A loft creation in the medieval quarters of Nicosia, Cyprus. We have worked closely to on site guidance given during close supervision with Nicosia Municipality’s technical personnel and have applied for a grant for the restoration of listed buildings such as this one. The structure neglected in the past due to rent control; by keeping property prices artificially low, building owners in the Old Town many times, earn a fraction of the rent they should, making restoration pointless. This has led to the steady and consistent decline of most of the buildings in the above category.
Downstairs the house has a free standing kitchenette, a lovely hidden garden and a work space that can open directly onto the bustling city just outside the door. The house has been equipped with cutting-edge technology in smart home automation, in an effort to harmonise the distribution and use of information and energy to create some ambience.
