St Lazarus Square is named after the adjoining church which bears the name of Lazarus, the resurrected pupil of Christ and Bishop of Larnaca, who died and is buried within. Facing the square and the church, part of an old market around the church-now gone, is the site, a warehouse. Owned by a close-knit old merchant family that continues to respect family and tradition, we have been commissioned to resolve the overall arhictectural/development concept of the space.

Key requirements were how to lay down the space to allow for various options and stages of the building’s future over the years to be acommodated for. To make definite spatial relationships and allocations for each family member to be presented with a personal work space. To create a conference space, decorated with items of the history of this family over the course of a century. To insert as much parking space as possible. To allow for the ground floor of the warehouse to be commercially exploited by a high-quality tenant. To ensure a building with services that would make it a healthy, practical and economic-to-run business environment. No overstatements, a dignified and peaceful working environment.
